About

99cobra CobraStang is just a fun place to come and learn about Fords most popular car, the Mustang.

Since the Ford Mustang came to exist in 1964, and grew into the phenomenon you see today, it has taken on many forms to many people! The most commonly sought after version of the Mustang however, has always been the Cobra! Since they were introduced at the New York World's Fair on April 17, 1964 -  Carroll  Shelby began modifying them shortly after, and the Cobra was born.

The 1999 White Cobra above was my first experience in a Mustang. I had grown up as an f-body fan, ruining several Camaro's and Firebirds through my teen years and into early adulthood. After that, I got my feet on imports, with a 1991 Eagle Talon... the thing screamed, broke, then screamed after it was fixed again! Then I drove the Cobra...

My Trusty 99 Cobra... Yes, the year with the loose IRS and lower than advertised horsepower issues, well it was good to me right up to about 48,000 miles, when the "first" engine spun a rod bearing cruising at 70 on the interstate. 28,000 and 4 shortblocks later, I had to retire it.

The Other Woman

07427rI Love my Wife... but the car to the left, well that's my other woman!

In late 07, I was looking at the new GT500's... I went into a local dealership here in Charlotte and the salesperson wouldn't let me test drive the car I was there for at the dealership... I walked out. Unknown to him, I was ready to sign the papers when I walked in the doors. I had done my online research, had my own car detailed for the trade possibility, hell, I even carried my own pen in with me!

I got home and found the next closest dealership with the same Blue stripes on White Cobra, which happened to be in Winston Salem NC. I Drove out there the next morning and by the time I got there, it had sold. On the way home, I decided to cut through Concord NC and take an off highway ride home. If you have ever been to Morrison Motor Co, you know the quality of the cars in the showroom... they have a selection of Mustangs to rival anyone! As I was passing, it was just inside the fence, before they even got it set out for the day... the rest is history.
