A lot of nice Mustangs and cars in general at the Food Lion Auto Fair this year. I spotted a few local Mustang clubs like Mayhem Mustangs of Charlotte as well, and will likely try to get a bit involved, and get out to more events this year.

2011 GT350 Pace Car - What a Ride!

If you are fan of old or new Mustangs, one thing you will always remember is the classic 65 Shelby GT350, or the later, 1966 Shelby GT350. These first generation Mustangs truly set the bar for the Cobra.

Now, 45 years later, the new 2011 Shelby GT350 is pacing NASCAR, specifically the Shelby American NASCAR Race in Las Vegas.

"When we unveiled the new 2011 Shelby GT350 last month, fans clamored for the car to pace this NASCAR race," said Amy Boylan, president of Shelby American. "Since so much of the GT350 was developed on the road course, drag strip, and oval of Las Vegas Motor Speedway, it was appropriate to show off the Shelby handling there during the race. It will be exciting to watch a Shelby GT350 lead a race for the first time since 1970."

MFMC 23rd Annual Mustang and Ford Roundup is set to kick off in Orlando on February 20th, 2010!

Mustangs & Powered By Ford vehicles will line the boulevard at Waterford Lakes again this year. Anyone that has attended this show know that it is a real blue oval treat! 2007 & older Mustangs & PBF can choose to be judged this year if they pre-register. YOU MUST PRE-REGISTER TO BE JUDGED. Cars newer than 2007 and ALL day of show entries will be Participant Popular Vote only. All judged cars will be parked by year, all popular vote will be parked together. In this MCA Modified Judged show, judged entries compete against themselves for Gold, Silver & Bronze trophies. Laurie, Queen of the Hop, will DJ and broadcast on area radios at FM 96.1 for your convenience. Dash plaques to the first 300 registered. Space is limited, register early. Limited vendor space is also available.

For only the fourth time in history, the Special Vehicle Team Owners Association is holding a national gathering designed for ALL Ford SVT owners to "experience." This summer, the SVTOA's "Experience IV" Nationals will be part of the annual "Mustang Week" event held in Myrtle Beach, S.C., from July 20-26, 2009.

Just like during the previous three SVTOA Nationals, "Experience IV" will feature a car show, a club dinner and a track event -- only this year, instead of a road course, our SVT's will finally be covering the pavement 1/4-mile at a time at nearby Darlington Dragway for an evening of dueling time slips! The SVTOA also has special prizes and guest appearances planned, in addition to all of the other attractions that make Mustang Week one of the biggest and best Ford-based automotive events in the country!

Last week, Carroll Shelby Performance announced their new lineup of performance upgrades for the 2010 Shelby Mustangs and the list is nothing short of excitement! Volo Museum Cobra Show Pictures!

After a one week rainout delay, the Volo Auto Museum held its Second Annual Mustang & Shelby Cobra Club Car Show, on June 14th.

Steve Maglich, the shows coordinator, said the turnout for the event was much better than they could have anticipated. Based on estimates from last years show, Steve said they planned for about 100 cars and 500 visitors... they were overwhelmingly surprised when more than 175 cars and 1500 visitors showed up for the one day event!

Volo Sends a Special Thanks to the Volunteers

Due to the event being postponed for one week due to rain, the production company Steve had lined up had prior commitments and although they did all they could, the Volo Museum recruited a team of Volunteers to help fill the gaps.

Overall, the show was a huge success and several rare cars were at the event! Without the help of the Volunteers, it would have been a nightmare! Special Thanks to everyone who helped out.

2nd Annual Shelby Cobra Mustang Show

When: June 07, 2009 (rain date June 14)
Where: Volo Auto Museum

OK - So I have owned a 99 Cobra and now the Roush 427r, yet I've still never been to a Mustang Show! I sure hope someone posts pictures from this event, it looks like there will quite a few beautiful rides!

It looks like there are 17 Award Classes, that just about cover ANY type of car that shows for the event! From Original or Restored Mustangs to Modified Mustangs (I assume this is where the Roush, Saleen, etc would fall in) and even the longest distance travelled, there is definitely something for everyone!
