Short Throw Shifter for your Mustang
I don't know about the rest of you, but one of the first Mod's to any of my Mustangs, has been the removal and installation of a Mustang Short Throw Shifter!
Not that I don't like the look and feel of the stock shifters in Mustangs, but when you get in that heated red light race and miss third gear just one time, you too, will start looking for an answer! For me, I wanted a new shifter that gave me a positive feel between each gear, a nice short throw (The distance the shifter travels between gears) and most importantly, smooth shifting between gears, so I could bang my way through the gears without missing!
Is Installing a Short Throw Shifter a DIY MOD?
This is really a loaded question - since only you know the skills and tools you have on hand to get it done! On my 99 Cobra, it was literally an hour long project, that was done from within the drivers compartment. On the 2007 427R Roush I now have, it took a bit longer since it was both inside the car as well as under it! Heck, getting the Roush on a jack or ramps was hard enough due to the low body panels and lowered suspension!

MGW Mustang Shifters
MGW has been my own preferred brand since the first swap I did! I don't recall exactly where I saw my first MGW Short Throw Mustang Shifter... I think it may have been an AutoFair here in Charlotte. Once I took a dry-run through the gears though, I have been hooked ever since!
You will be hard pressed to find an MGW online, except at their website. If you see any listed in the eBay deal window below... get it while it lasts!
