2011 Shelby GT350 Pace Car – Another Beautiful Mustang!

2011 GT350 Pace Car - What a Ride!

If you are fan of old or new Mustangs, one thing you will always remember is the classic 65 Shelby GT350, or the later, 1966 Shelby GT350. These first generation Mustangs truly set the bar for the Cobra.

Now, 45 years later, the new 2011 Shelby GT350 is pacing NASCAR, specifically theĀ  Shelby American NASCAR Race in Las Vegas.

"When we unveiled the new 2011 Shelby GT350 last month, fans clamored for the car to pace this NASCAR race," said Amy Boylan, president of Shelby American. "Since so much of the GT350 was developed on the road course, drag strip, and oval of Las Vegas Motor Speedway, it was appropriate to show off the Shelby handling there during the race. It will be exciting to watch a Shelby GT350 lead a race for the first time since 1970."

The Shelby GT350 is an aftermarket upgrade, like Roush, Saleen and many others that adorn the popular Mustang GT baseline. Read more at either the Shelby site, or this great writeup at Easy Car Blog. Full specs of the 2011 Shelby GT350

Very sweet car and thank you for sharing! I have not driven on yet, but I’m hoping to get behind the wheel of one shortly. I do, however, have a good amount of experience with the GT500, which I love.
