1965 brought about a new type of Mustang that would forever change the cars place in history. Ford teamed up with now legend, Carroll Shelby, to produce a special edition Mustang, named the Shelby GT350. Since the car was produced in very limited production numbers, the few who were able to get their hands on one of the legendary builders cars, got their money worth, which at the time, was only slightly more than $4500.

Alongside the street version of the 1965 Shelby GT350 Mustang, there was a very select group of mustangs chosen to receive a special upgrade to an "R" version, which meant Race! That special edition mustang started the "R-Model" craze that still exists today, and R Model Mustangs are the most sought after cars in the Mustang line!
